Rebel Rose SMF
Rebel Rose SMF is a beautiful blood-bay mare sired by our stallion BB Thee Renegade and out of the mare Royal Laleekha (Ibn El Mareekh x Laleque). Her pedigree includes many of the most respected sires in our breed including *Ansata Ibn Halima, *Morafic, Nazeer, *Ibn Moniet El Nefous, Alaa El Din and the list goes on. The strength of the sires is balanced by that of the mares who include *Deena, *Bint Mona, Halima, Dahma II, *Ansata Bint Mabrouka and all of those great mares that proceed them. Rebel Rose SMF is heavily Babson-bred on her dam’s side. The devotion and commitment, experience and expertise of generations of great breeders all contribute to the quality of this special young mare. We are excited by the challenges of continuing their efforts to preserve these important bloodlines. Although we are always anxious to greet the next generation of Silver Maple foals, we have learned one of the most difficult lessons that all true breeders eventually must learn – PATIENCE! Henry and I have made the decision to wait until our mares are at least four years old before having them bred, so 2004 was the first year that we included “Rosie” in our breeding plans. She was bred to our stallion Majestic Noble who is by Marquis I and out of the wonderful mare Nagda, who is by Nabiel and out of Bint Magida. This pairing of Rebel Rose SMF and Majestic Noble SMF represents a totally new branch in the Silver Maple family tree because Noble is the only stallion in our program who has absolutely no Babson blood in his pedigree. The resulting foal, a beautiful grey straight Egyptian filly greatly exceeded our expectations – so much in fact that we repeated the breeding! As Henry and I approach our 15 th year with Arabian horses, we reflect on the heartaches of loosing our horses that have passed on but, we also look forward to seeing the next season’s foals as they take their first steps to find their mother’s milk. There’s really nothing else like it – nothing that compares to witnessing a new life. Unless of course it’s sharing that experience with breeders from around the corner or around the world who love the experience as much as we do. That is the true beauty of what we do – we can enjoy a wonderful connection to the most beautiful creature God has created and through them, we can enjoy a very special connection with some truly extraordinary people. Historically, it is noted that the Arabian horse transcended tribal conflicts and brought the Bedouins together in the interest of improving their stock. Isn’t it marvelous that centuries later, these magnificent animals are still able to bring together people of different cultures, religions and social backgrounds – all to celebrate the Arabian horse.
