2004 Egyptian Event WinnersMajestic Noble SMF Jade Lotus SMF Bint Shaia Sahara Sun SMF Ali Sadiid ADVERTISER'S PROFILE "We always take particular pleasure in the annual Egyptian Event," says Christie Metz. "This year we were especially proud of our young stallion Majestic Noble SMF (Marquis I x Nagda), who won the Extended Specialty Stallion Halter in his age group unanimously. In fact, each of our four stallions had a wonderful show. The other three had impressive wins via their offspring. Ali Saroukh's daughter, Jade Lotus SMF (x Imdals Jade), won her age group in the Extended Specialty Mare Halter unanimously, and his son, Ali Sadiid (x Shaia+) placed well in all six of his Hunter Pleasure classes, placing second in two and third in three others, with the talented Cydney Cutchall riding. BB Thee Renegade had six offspring take awards at the Event, including Bint Shaia (x Shaia+), who (among other awards) was a unanimous Reserve in the Egyptian-Bred Two-Year-Old Futurity Finals, and her full brother, Sahara Sun SMF, who was Top Five in both of his halter classes. Other BB Thee Renegade offspring that were Top Ten included Avicus (x Royal Laleekha) and Shadena RMA (x SES Nadira). Desert Image MA (BB Thee Renegade x AJ Ahlams Delight) won the Western Pleasure JTR class and placed well in three other Western Pleasure classes. But Renegade's most spectacular winner was the incredibly beautiful Bint Maysa KA (x Maysa) who won Most Classic Head (Female) in a highly competitive class. Of course, International Champion *Simeon Shai+ always has a good show at the Event. This year he had six offspring that placed well, including Top Tens: SH Cybele (x PG Beau Lady), BBT Shai VI (Ravenwood Finale), Summerwood Shai (x Saghira), and Eau So Shai (x Eau Dee Glory). The full siblings, Etaya Amir (x Abitibi Madelina) and Etaya Amira, did even better. Etaya Amir was Reserve Champion Futurity Straight Egyptian Two-Year-Old Fillies and Etaya Amir was Reserve Champion Extended Specialty Straight Egyptian Four-Year-Old Stallions. We wish special congratulations to all of the owners of these horses and their excellent trainers and handlers, particularly Michael Byatt, Robin Hopkinson and Mike Neal, all of whom did a great job with our horses." "It was lot of fun," adds Henry. "When we weren't cheering for one of our own, there was another son or daughter of one of the stallions in the ring doing well. We came home both hoarse and happy." "In case you've been wondering . . . the new Silver Maple Farm in the Santa Ynez Valley is slowly, slowly coming together. Right now it's a tremendous amount of work, and at the same time very exciting. Hopefully, we'll have a new barn and a new house and be able to orchestrate an Open House sometime in the coming months and invite everyone over!
