Pyramid Society Board of Directors Meet and Greet at SMF

November 9, 2007

Pyramid Society Board Members and friends watch the presentation of horses from the new raised viewing area at SMF!

The Pyramid Society Board of Directors meets every three months to conduct business in different parts of the country in order to take the opportunity to visit with members in those areas as well as seeing some of the farms. Dr. Jody Cruz and wife Dr. Karen Fong organized the long weekend to include social and meeting time plus an Open House at Rancho Bulakenyo in San Luis Obispo to welcome their new stallion, Imperial Al Kamar. Silver Maple and Om El Arab International were two of the farm visits on Friday for the group. “To gather and share the breeding programs with other breeders is a dream” says Henry Metz. Christie and Henry Metz, Owners of Silver Maple Farm proudly presented a few of the mare families and their progeny by the SMF stallions in order to give an overview of their breeding program.

AL Khamsa Visits SMF

The Legend “Simeon Shai with SMF Manager Emily Devers always enjoys showing off for an appreciative crowd!

Silver Maple Farm hosted Al Khamsa convention attendees at the farm on Friday October 12, 2007.  Henry and Christie Metz along with their staff thoroughly enjoyed sharing their breeding program with this group of dedicated breeders of desert horses. Everyone had a wonderful time including the horses! On Saturday morning Cynthia Culbertson and Christie Metz were two of the speakers on hand for the annual Convention held in Paso Robles.  Cynthia spoke on “Arabian Type : Romance or Reality?” and Christie presented “The Arabian Horse, Worldwide Ambassador”, both subjects were enthusiastically received by the attendees. Cynthia and Christie plan on more educational opportunities at SMF in 2008 via seminars so be sure to watch for announcements of dates. We want to extend our thanks to the organizers of the 2007 Al Khamsa Convention for inviting Silver Maple to be a part of this great gathering and also to all of the members who attended.

New Media Consultant

Christie and Henry Metz are pleased to announce the services for SMF by Judy Guess as Media Consultant to Silver Maple Farm, Inc.

Henry and I have known Judy for many years; we actually first met her when she visited Judy Jones of Atallah Arabians in our hometown of Sioux City Iowa. In some ways we had the same Arabian breeder as a mentor and we have always respected Judy for her breeding acumen but also for her artistic abilities as well. She is also one of the most honest and kind people we know.

Judy Guess is well known for breeding exceptional quality horses at her farm, Blackwind Arabians of New Ulm, Texas. She has bred such notable horses as the mare,  Farid Nile Dream (Farid Nile Moon x  Imperial Maysama by Imperial Madheen) now owned by DeShazer Arabians of Houston, Texas and Tallahsman (Imperial Madheen x Bint Atallah by Ruminaja Ali) a herd sire for Sakr Stud in Cairo Egypt  and Phaaros (ZT Faa’iq x Bint Atallah) of Alfabia Stud in Italy owned by the famous Equine Photographer Gigi Grasso and partner Paolo Damilano._Most importantly we are happy to have the opportunity to employ Judy’s unique and educated input with all the media of Silver Maple Farm including the www.smfarabs.com web site and print advertising. Welcome aboard Judy!

It was another great year in Lexington for Silver Maple Farm!

Christie was delighted to be back at the Event, and her friends were certainly happy to see her there with a smile on her face. The classes were large and of excellent quality, so we are quite proud that all eight of the Silver Maple bred horses were Top Ten!
