Cynthia Culbertson

A lifelong devotee of the Arabian breed, Cynthia was a member of the United States National Champion Youth Judging Team as a teenager and also served as the youngest Vice-President of the Georgia Arabian Horse Association. After obtaining a degree in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, she was a resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for nearly a decade. During this time she had the honor of serving on the Executive Committee for their first National Championship Arabian Horse Show, as well as serving as a consultant for several private breeders.

Cynthia is a staff writer for Desert Heritage, and is also the author of two books in collaboration with Italian photographer Gigi Grasso. She regularly lectures on the subject of Bedouin culture and folklore in relation to the Arabian horse and has scripted and narrated multiple videos on the history of the breed.   "I am elated to have the opportunity to help execute the extraordinary vision of Henry and Christie Metz when it comes to the Arabian horse," states Cynthia. "I feel extremely privileged to assist in their efforts, and have always admired their selfless commitment to education and promotion of the breed they love."

Henry and Christie Metz have both worked with Cynthia in several educational endeavors over the years, including initiatives for the Pyramid Society, the Pyramid Foundation, the Kasper Foundation for Equine Art, the Taos Art School, their own highly-successful “Club Metz” seminars, and most recently an innovative art exhibit devoted to the Arabian horse to be held at the International Museum of the Horse in Lexington, Kentucky in 2010. “We are thrilled to have Cynthia collaborate with us as Silver Maple strives to educate others about this wonderful breed,” states Christie. “It is our mutual passion and love for the straight Egyptian Arabian horse that brought us together and continues to be a common thread in our lives.”
