Owners Henry and Christie Metz 1989 marked the year that the journey of becoming involved in the Arabian horse industry began for this dynamic couple. Through neighbors and personal friends, Dr. Charles and Judy Jones of Atallah Arabians the Metz’s were introduced to this unique breed of horse. Judy mentored Christie during daily rides on the history and the business of breeding, owning and showing these horses. Christie spent countless hours at the Jones farm shadowing Judy or her Manager at the time; learning all aspects of the business plus gaining hands on experience. They purchased a gelding first, named Taj No Ali (Ruminaja Ali x Moynese by Mohssen) and then a mare named Isah (El Hilal x Shar Mar Gai Lisa by Azraff). Isah happened to be in foal when purchased but the foal was to belong to the Jones. After witnessing the birth of this foal in 1990 Henry told Christie he thought it would be a good idea to look into creating a business for breeding Arabians. After determining their direction the farm became established for breeding Arabians. In 1991 Silver Maple Farm, Inc. was incorporated as an Arabian horse business. Even nineteen years later they both work daily in maintaining a “hands- on” approach to the business. Henry concentrates on the day to day operations plus showing the horses while Christie oversees the advertising and marketing
